biography
Sociedade Artística Banda de Vale de Cambra is a philharmonic band founded in 1911 under the name Sociedade Recreativa Beneficente, later known as Banda de Música de Vale de Cambra. When Lira Cambrense disbanded in 1956, many of its musicians joined this band.
Throughout its history, it has won a competition marking the 25th anniversary of FNAT and achieved second place in the civil band competition 'Sol de Verão', organised by RTP, as well as in the television competition 'Filarmónicas Portuguesas'. It has its own school, the Escola de Música António Pinho, and in 2026 it will celebrate 115 years.
