biography
The Grupo de Sargaceiros de Apúlia is a traditional group from the parish of Apúlia, in the municipality of Esposende, in the heart of Minho. Founded in 1934 and associated with the Casa do Povo de Apúlia, it is dedicated to preserving and promoting the folklore and traditions of the region, keeping alive in particular the memory of the sargaceiros — the men and women who gathered seaweed along the beaches of the Minho coast.
Over the decades, the group has represented the cultural heritage of Apúlia, with its activities documented in the Arquivo Fonográfico Municipal do Porto and available on platforms such as Apple Music, while regularly sharing its initiatives on social media.
