biography
The Banda de Música de S. Paio de Antas was founded by Manuel Rodrigues Laranjeira in November 1920, although its first written record dates back to 1871. In its early days, it was made up of musicians from the parishes of Antas and Belinho, in the municipality of Esposende.
Throughout its history, the band was directed by Valdemar Sequeira between 1989 and 2012. Based on Rua de Alvre, in Antas, it is a regular presence at various events in the region, most notably the Festas de São Paio de Antas.
