Ayom

Ayom are a multicultural band rooted in Portugal, led by Brazilian vocalist Jabu Morales and formed between Lisbon and Barcelona. Their music blends Brazilian, tropical, Afro-Latin and Afro-Lusitanian sounds with a Mediterranean identity, creating a world of their own that defies easy labelling. The band's very name refers to the 'Lord of Music' in Afro-Brazilian mythology. With an intense live schedule, Ayom have performed over 200 concerts in around 30 countries and released albums such as 'Sa.Li.Va' and the self-titled 'Ayom'. Their journey has been recognised with distinctions including the Songlines Music Award for Best Band and the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik for Best World Music Album.
