The Pilgrimage Festival in honour of Our Lady dos Aflitos, in Pegarinhos (Alijó), reaches its 193rd edition in 2026, and the village bills itself as the 'Capital da Música do Baile'. Six days at the end of August with dancing every night, a five-a-side football tournament, a folk music evening and a parish day. On Saturday there is a Mass and procession in honour of Saint Bárbara; on Sunday, Mass and a procession in honour of Our Lady dos Aflitos, with live biblical tableaux, the entry of brass and fanfare bands, the annual fair and a fireworks display.
