Festivities in Honour of Saint Quitéria

The festivities of Saint Quitéria take place in the village of Meridãos, in Tendais, around the chapel dedicated to the saint, built between the 17th and 18th centuries. In 2026, the programme announces them with a simple phrase: there is a festival in the village of Meridãos, from 6 to 9 August.

Meridãos is one of the villages of Tendais, in the municipality of Cinfães, on a small plateau in the Montemuro mountain range, near the valley of the river Bestança. The centre of the festivities is the chapel of Saint Quitéria, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The village is also home to the Casa da Portela, identified as the only manor house with a coat of arms from the former municipality of Tendais, and the Casa do Outeiro de Meridãos, which includes a 16th-century nucleus.
