Festivities in Honour of Saint Simão

The Festivities in Honour of Saint Simão, in Oiã (Oliveira do Bairro), took place from 23 to 25 October 2026. On Friday there was a samba circle with the group Ferrinha nos Pagodes da Vida and, at midnight, DJ Pípoka. On Saturday, after the street parade through the streets of Oiã at 9h00, the group Ira performed and, at 1h00, DJ Amanda Salvi. On Sunday, at 10h00, there was a solemn mass followed by a procession accompanied by the Banda da Quinta do Picado and, at 16h00, a show with the group Amadeu Mota.

Oiã is a civil parish in the municipality of Oliveira do Bairro, in the district of Aveiro, covering 26.74 km² and home to 7,862 inhabitants (2021 census). It was elevated to town status by Law no. 42/89, of 24 August 1989. Among the parish's settlements are Águas Boas, Giesta, Malhapão, Perrães, Rego, Silveira and Silveiro. The Church of Saint Simão is the mother church of Oiã.
