about the place
Fataunços is just over a kilometre from Vouzela, to the west, in the lands of Lafões. The parish was already organised at the time of the Inquirições of 1258, and the first Christian community was called São Miguel da Folgosa. The mother church, enlarged in the eighteenth century, houses a gilded carved high altar bearing the royal coat of arms, as it once belonged to the Royal Patronage.
