Little Bean Fair and Our Lady of the Rosary

Fiscal, Amares, Braga
2 – 4 October 2026

history

In the parish of Fiscal, in the municipality of Amares, the Feirinha do Feijão e Senhora do Rosário is a celebration that brings together gastronomy, tradition, music, culture and community spirit. It is a festival designed for all ages, with an entertainment programme that accompanies the community's days of gathering. At the heart of this festival is the table and what the land knows how to produce. Traditional dishes such as bean stew, rice with beans and corn bread set the tone for a celebration of flavours, sounds and traditions that honour the identity of Fiscal and Amares.

about the place

Nestled in the municipality of Amares, in the heart of the verdant Minho, Fiscal is a parish of understated beauty, between the rivers Homem and Cávado, a land of calloused hands and open hearts. It was here that António Variações was born, the singer and composer who carried the name of this land far and wide, and to whom the parish keeps a bust, a bronze memory of a bold son. At Easter, the Compasso procession takes place, an ancient and meaningful ritual that crosses the River Homem in an appeal for peace. At the table, beans take centre stage in dishes such as bean rice, served with cornbread and accompanied by a fresh Vinho Verde from the Loureiro grape variety. A land of river and music that invites you to slow your pace and let yourself be won over by its stillness.
