the district
Lisbon is light over the Tagus, neighbourhoods each with their own soul, and an energy that never stops. Between the historic and the cosmopolitan, it always has a surprise in store.
what to see
Alfama and Mouraria, live fado in narrow alleyways.
The Baixa Pombalina and Terreiro do Paço, facing the river.
Belém, towers, monasteries and warm custard tarts.
Sintra, just next door, palaces between the hills and the mist.
The Linha beaches, Cascais and Estoril, a train ride away.
