Os Zés Pereiras de Azagães are a traditional bass drum group, an integral part of the festive culture of northern Portugal. With their martial percussion and traditional costumes, they make their presence felt at fairs and pilgrimages, bringing the solemn and vibrant touch that heralds the highlights of the celebrations.
The group is known for opening the festivities in honour of São Miguel and Nossa Senhora da Guia, fulfilling the role that falls to the Zés Pereiras of opening and enlivening popular celebrations.
