Rancho Folclórico Terra da Castanha represents the ethnographic and folk traditions of the Terras do Demo, a region in the north of Viseu. Founded in 1982, the group is dedicated to preserving and promoting the customs, costumes, dances and traditional songs of this inland area.
Throughout its history, the rancho has taken part in numerous events and folk group gatherings, and is closely tied to the region's festivities, particularly the Festa da Castanha in Sernancelhe.
