biography
The folk group «As Mondadeiras das Barrosas» was founded in 1986 in Barrosas, a parish of Salir, in the municipality of Loulé. The following year, the Associação Cultural e Recreativa das Barrosas was established to provide it with legal support.
The group showcases the customs and traditions of the Algarve highlands through dances, songs and costumes collected in the parish of Salir. Every summer it organises a folklore festival in Barrosas.
