Caretos de Salsas are a group of traditional masked figures from the village of Salsas, in the municipality of Bragança, in the northeastern region of Trás-os-Montes. They are among the masked characters who enliven the Winter Solstice celebrations and the Festa dos Reis, an ancestral tradition of the region.
With their distinctive masks and costumes, Caretos de Salsas contribute to the preservation of the cultural heritage of Trás-os-Montes, keeping alive the rituals and customs that mark the festive calendar of the community.
