biography
The Banda da Sociedade Filarmonica de Mira Sintra & Agualva is a philharmonic ensemble from the Sintra region, linked to the Sociedade Filarmonica de Mira Sintra e Agualva-Cacem, which also includes the Grupo de Cavaquinhos of the same organisation. The group performs traditional Portuguese music and takes part in community events and celebrations, such as the 25 de Abril commemorations in Massama.
Throughout its history, the ensemble has performed at numerous concerts, including joint appearances with other philharmonic groups from the region, keeping alive the tradition of wind bands in the service of local festivities and cultural life.
