Átoa are a Portuguese pop group formed in Évora by four long-time friends: Guilherme (vocals, guitar and piano), João (guitar, piano and vocals), Rodrigo (drums) and Mário (vocals, guitar and piano). Their purpose is to make good music sung in Portuguese, and they aspire to leave their mark on Portuguese music, drawing inspiration from their everyday experiences and stories. Their references include names such as Miguel Araújo, Tiago Bettencourt, António Zambujo and Os Azeitonas.
In 2019 they released the album 'Sem Medos', which showcases their pop sound through a mix of energetic and more laid-back tracks. Among their best-known songs are 'Hoje', 'Distância', 'Já Não' and 'Falar a Dois'.
