biography
Alma Negra is a Swiss collective formed in Basel, known for a sound that blurs boundaries by fusing rhythms from across the world, digging culture and dancefloor-ready energy. The project is composed of Swiss-Cape Verdean brothers Dersu and Diego Figueira, whose music crosses techno with influences from afrobeat, zouk, disco, house and Afro-Caribbean grooves.
Associated with labels such as Sofrito, Heist and Dimensions Recordings, they gained early support from Gilles Peterson. Their releases include EPs such as 'La Plage', 'Madrugada', 'San Jon' and 'Endless Summer'.
