The Festas Populares de Vilar do Monte, in the parish union of Tamel (Santa Leocádia) and Vilar do Monte, in the municipality of Barcelos, celebrate Our Lady of the Good Death. The event is organised by the Festival Committee, which has kept this tradition alive over the years.
The festival brings together moments of religious devotion, with processions, alongside concerts and community gatherings. It is a celebration that combines the quiet reflection of faith with the joy of coming together between neighbours and visitors.
It is worth noting that the parish union of Tamel (Santa Leocádia) and Vilar do Monte was established in 2013, and also marks its Parish Day in September, with community activities.
